Did you make Herman or did you buy Herman?

My dad actually bought me Herman at a Vodou store in New Orleans when he was there. I originally had another, named Vinny, who was shorter and had orange eyes and red feathers, that my mother bought me in New Orleans, but he broke.
Herman has never actually been used for a magical working- he serves me as a conduit for spiritual communication and focus.

Thank you! I like the feel of handmade things that are made from natural material so I have tried to get that feel to my altar and all around my apartment. The silver bowl I use for offerings, and it is also a tibetan singing bowl. I found both of the wooden bowls in a secondhand shop in my hometown. Hand crafted things have an old tradition here in Sweden and therefore it’s not that hard to find old wooden bowls and other handcrafted stuff in secondhand stores. In another store I found a jar and a wooden box with the same type of carvings as the bowl to the left. i71.photobucket.com/albums/i127/Svartkorp/IMG_2050.jpg?t=1297714141i71.photobucket.com/albums/i127/Svartkorp/IMG_2055.jpg?t=1297713702The white parts on the box are horn inlays. I did skip like a twilight fan when I found that one and I paid less than 8 dollars for it. The bowl to the left is filled with all kinds of crystals and the one on the right is filled with stones I have found in places that a special to me. The horn, I found on tradera.com the Swedish version of ebay. The goddess statue I found in a store that sell imported, hand crafted things from all over the world. If you turn the statue it is also a god statue. ;D i71.photobucket.com/albums/i127/Svartkorp/IMG_2042.jpg?t=1297710630

I have a small tibetan singing bowl, i love the sound of them. I would like to get another, ive seen some online with pretty details in them (the one i have now is plain)
When i went to denmark last october, i went to this lovely store run by a woman who was swedish. everything had been brought over from sweden, lovely handmade things. It was just before christmas so i bought some candle holders to put on the tree.
I love the horn

I like all the pictures. Makes me jealous. I would like to know where you got the wooden bowls at Sandra. I love them and all things natural. Don't know if you have big giant Goodwill stores like we do in Portland. They tend to have a whole isle with all their wooden stuff, like baskets, bowls, wooden cups and chalices as well as picture frames, spice racks etc... I need to get some new ones for my new altar. but I'll post a picture of my old altar that is now in storage in CA. I live in a small space now so I am creating a mobile altar kit to take on my nature hikes. Thrift stores and flea markets are my favorite places to shop for altar stuff. When I had the property out in Waldport, OR ( I lived on 2 1/2 acres with a cabin and trailer) me and my ex had built a small grove. I had a Well represented by a giant cauldron Rachel had, and a large Fire Bowl both set up in front of a giant beautiful tree. The cats loved to play in the grove. I had picture, but lost them when the ADF ning community was shut down. A Druids grove is called a nemeton, which is the altar. images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/45d/a34/45da349e-7efd-4d16-a1d8-d8064908d8b9 This is a doll that used to sit on my altar a few years ago. We (a former girlfriend) gave her to Morning Glory Zell Ravenheart as a Yule present. So she now watches over Morning Glory and Oberon Zell Ravenheart. ;D images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/18b/bd3/18bbd3fd-06ee-4f74-9160-f01df72f0a83This is my old altar that is now in storage. I found the staff on my friend's land in Wilsonville, CA. It is cedar. The burgany candle is triple wicked to represent Brighid. There are three wooden offering bowls for each of the three Kindred (Shining Ones "gods", Ancestors & Nature Spirits) and for the Well, Tree & Fire. Theres a small brass cauldron for the Well, A green Candle for the Fire and believe it or not, the Deer antler I found stuck in a tree, so I used it to represent the Tree. There is also a Crane bag, a offering chest, a ogham bag and journal, a small hand made sickle that was given to me by a friend as well as a Boline I bought, and a incense (the little wolf, the incesne smoke comes out of his mouth) burner, a small brass bell, a giant pine cone (that later replaced the deer antler as my tree symbol), and a white candle for "Two Power meditation" work. Above are all my wolf statues that I collect. Wolves are my spirit totem. My last name is "Villalobos" which means either "House of Wolves" or "Village of Wolves". images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/675/306/675306dd-02ed-41d7-8b50-e801a4f8c008Here is a earlier incarnation of said altar in a earlier house I had.

Third good will here I come well tmw that is. I may have to look on ebay for one of those Tibetan singing bowls. I want one now It's funny that Tibetan should be mention because in college I was in a play about it. I bet I still have my stuff on it. I learned a lot about Tibetan and the Dali Lama etc.

This is my "working space" its not set out like a wiccan altar, its more an area where i do readings and anything to do with my spirituality. It's been down for months as I am decorating my room but i'm nearly finished so i have started pulling things out. It's not how i want it to be, so its going to change over the upcoming days. www.flickr.com/photos/ellenseer/5471493969/I have 3 candles, my working candle, divination candle and a scented candle. I have an oil burner and a incense cone holder shaped as a dragon (the smoke comes out of his mouth so it looks dragony lol) i have my crystal cabinet with some of my crystals in and an amethyst cluster ontop. a moon stone and sun stone are by my working candle to represent balance. And i have a giraffe, owl and tortoise ornaments. The owl represents wisdom. My grandfather bought the tortoise for my mother before he died, and the giraffe just cos i liked it lol Oh, and i have my singing bowl which i use to start a reading.
