As a Rewilder, I'm really into primitive skills/crafts. Right now I plan on learning on how to make cordage out of plants.
Also during my hikes I been looking for good plants in my area that I can use for basket weaving that I really want to learn.
Part 1
Part 2
The ancient Celts called the Druids, master blacksmiths and craftsmen, "Aes Dana" (men of art) so the Rewilders focus on primitive skills and craft pleases the Druid in me & vice versus. lol
I will be doing videos on the stuff I make. One of the things I want to do is make all my ritual tools, etc.. using primitive skills. I feel this will help me to one, build a stronger relationship with the land spirits through the natural materials I will be using. Two, build a stronger relationship and better understanding of my ancestors. Three, build a stronger relationship with the "First Ancestor" (gods") by using my crafts in ritual honoring them.
I will try to do videos of each of my projects to share here with others.
Maybe we can convince Sandra to make some videos of some of her craft skills. I have seen many she has shown me and she is gifted. Of course she is lucky. She lives in a country that encourages it's young to keep the old traditional crafts alive. ;D

I should pick it up again since I still remember how to do it. Hmmm. Maybe tomorrow I'll go out and find some hardwood and carve out some needles and use course hemp string instead of yarn. That should be interesting. Think I'll make a hemp beanie. lol ;D

Honestly I'm not into many arts and crafts well not like I would like to be. The only few things I do, do paint when I can, write music and poetry when I am inspired and can. I love all things creative just haven't found that niche I guess.

What is a Bard? One who uses music, poetry & art in magic would be the simplistic answer. But they are far more complexed than that. The Bards of Ireland usually pay homage to Lady Brighid who is said to be the goddess who bestows Imbas (divine inspiration) upon them through what the Druids call the "Fire in the Head". Lady Brighid is known as the matron goddess of the Druids & Bards. She was so loved by the people of Ireland that the Church could not stamp her out. So they converted her into Saint Brighid. But the Church decanonized her in 1960, saying there was no proof she ever actually existed. But the Sisters of Kildare relit her sacred fire in 1993 and moved it to the Solas Bhríde Community. Interesting thing is the Sisters honour her as both the Saint & the Goddess. They even use the older Pagan symbol called Brighid's Cross. Rome does not recognize this Sisterhood. I like to point out that Brighid was a Goddess who transcended Ireland. She was revered in Britain, Wales and mainland Europe in ancient times as well. The modern Sisterhood of Avalon (A Druidess Order) recognize her as their matron. Some of the women here may find them empowering, www.sisterhoodofavalon.org They started out as a group of witches & priestess. They are now a full blown Druidess Order specalizing in the women's mysteries, magick and spirituality. Most of the modern Druidic Orders recognize them as the return of Avalon. It was founded by the witch/priestess Jhenah Telyndru, who is still the present Morgen (Archdruidess). I'm a guy and I love her work. The reason why I mentioned the SOA is because Jhenah Telyndru is also a Bard and one of my favorites along side of Damh the Bard & Kelliana. I can't find any videos of her. But here is one of Damh the Bard: And here is probably to me the greatest female Bard in America, Kelliana: FreyaStonehengeOk I got carried away. But yah! Thats a Bard. lol

I don't do crafts much, Occasionally I may knit but thats about it. I made a scrying mirror a few weeks ago, I need to do another coat of paint and it'll be done; I also made a poppet a few weeks ago as well. The poppet is kinda crappy but I love it, Vincent needed a body anyway. I also plan on making another poppet this weekend I just need to grab some more thread.

Funny you should say that. I have always felt and attraction to Lady Brighid. Yes I have heard of her but don't know a whole lot about her. Now I will have to do more research. In my every growing spare time that I seem to be losing now lol
