If you've found this message, you are doing great!
I would like to introduce you to Proboards, free message board hosting service... I'm sure you've all noticed it has ads, which is the price we pay to have a free message board.
Alright, well this is my first experience with Proboards also and I must say I am already impressed. Without further adieu, I would like to point out a few survival hints to navigate it without worry..
First I want to draw your attention to what I am going to call "The Home Bar" (because the first option on it is the "Home" link)
If you click "home" it will take you to the first page, or 'home page' of this message board, Ye Ole Broomcloset.
"New Topics" will list all the new topic posts since your last sign in.
Help displays the help for Proboards.com, our illustrious host, this link may provide lots of good info on further navigating and using the message boards. I haven't fully explored it yet.
There's also a calendar, which will be great for events, holidays, birthdays, scheduled chats, etc.
"Profile" displays your profile.
and of course "Logout" which will log you out of the message board.
and finally "Chat" this is the link to our Java based free add on that allows us to chat live with each other..
Next we have posting messages and such!!
When you find a topic to post in, let's say you are going to post your introduction. Click on the board you want to post your message in, we're using the introduction board as an example. Look to the top right of your screen, and you will see a link called "new thread". This is what you will click to write a new message.
To reply, to someone else's post, you will click 'reply' below the message, on the right hand side.
I will post more as I find things. This is really all you need to know to get started on our new forums!
I'm very pleased with such a loaded message board system, and it's free. I hope you all are as impressed as I am.
The set up was even remarkably easy, even though I do have past experience with another site called "Invision free" .. I'm SUPER impressed that I dressed up the boards with the color scheme, background, and logo image without having to do CSS code. Ah.. but enough technical jibber jabber.. I like it, I hope you do too!
Big thanks to go Mandy! This group was her idea. I just like tweaking and tinkering, and making things easier for everyone.
