Hey everyone! As a gay man, I can't help but love all things shiny and sparkly (besides Edward Cullen...burrrrrnn) and so naturally I love working with crystals, gems, and metals. I wanted to which gem/crystal/metal is your favorite to work with, or which one you feel the most connection/attraction to? Mine are personally amethyst and hematite. Every since I was very young, I have been attracted to the energies of amethyst- calming, serene, clarifying. I used to wear amethyst religiously, and I can often be found meditating with my large amethyst cluster. Hematite is practically always found in my pocket if I am anticipating some anxiety in my day- especially if I have to do a presentation/public speaking engagement. Sekhmet, my Mother Goddess, loves Hematite as well and it makes a perfect offering for Her. Thanks guys!

lol on the Edward Cullen part. I also love things shiny and sparkly! (maybe im a former fairy or mermaid? jk) I love moonstones they were the first I connected with. I have one on a ring that I never take off it was given to me by a very dear friend. I also like Jet this one took me a while to "warm" up to literally because mine always felt cold at first but now it has an energy all its own

I have many favs but if I could only pick one then it would have to be clear quartz. I am never without my quartz point pendant as I find that it filters out peoples crap and keeps it from reaching you and getting all mixed up into your aura.
And if I didn't have to just pick one then.....
I love Selenite too which I have a sphere of sitting in front of my millennial gaia statue. Brings an angelic peace into my room which is always a plus.
If I am feeling anxious about something that I have to do that day then I put on my amber drop pendant and it brings me the courage to do what needs to be done. Tigers eye acts in the same way which I wear via a ring.
Citrine is another crystal I love to have about for it's cleansing properties and love the fact it never needs cleansing although I do anyways on occasion. Also find it to be good for grounding and calming if I am having an anxiety attack. That could just be the effect of holding and concentrating on something though.

My favorite would have to be amythest I think. I am really attracted to that color and the stone just draws to me. However other two favs are Citrine (it was the first stone I bought) and tigers eye.

another citrine fan here ^^ I keep one on my altar, for luck and joy and wealth.
As a kid, I used to collect rocks, so I have a few pretties saved up. Tiger's eye is nice, though someday I want to save up enough for a really pretty laboradorite. Gosh they're pretty ~drools~ Amber is also on the someday list, as it's sacred to Freyja, gorgeous, and can even have an insect from ages past in there. It really brings home the ancient-ness of the Pagan path to me. Fossils do the same thing, and I have one on a necklace which needs to be restrung that I like to wear when I need that extra oomph of personal power.
I keep a couple agates in my purse too. One is larger and red-striped, the other is blue with a hint of red-brown on one corner. They remind me of Muspellheim and Niflheim, or the fire and ice of which everything is made. Agates are also found on the shores of the Great Lakes, which I live near, so that local connection is nice.

That is cool. That would be a good way to represent the god and goddess on the altar if you didnt have statues.

deities in general. I dont know if its the fact i havent found ones that fit with me, but i dont like the fact deity are deity, as if they are real figures. I understand people use them to show representations of different aspects in life but i dont need that for myself. I work more with elements and nature itself. Thats just me though, i mean no offence by it. I do have a female statue of a goddess but i see that as a representation of peace and calmness. And one of rhiannon as its a beautiful figure and im welsh lol but i dont pray/worship any deity although i love mythology. Weird relationship with deity, right? lol

not weird at all my brother in law (my hubby's sister's hubby) doesn't really have deities either.. he's more of an elemental sort of guy.. I'm sort of a mix of Irish celtic and Norse deity.. and also Eris .. and I'm stilll going to put all that in an intro lol..

naturalistic pantheism does not believe in any creator deity distinct from nature, but rather that nature itself is the self-originating or eternal source of all being
^^^ i can relate to that alot Not that i want to put a label on myself, as im not set on one belief system, im in the middle of figuring things out lol
But i do believe in spirits and lean towards Shamanism, im fascinated by it. I'm currently reading By oak, ash & thorn modern celtic shamanism by D.J.Conway. Its very interesting so far.
back on topic i saw bracelets made out of sunstone today. It was so sparkley!
